From Matt:

Well, I couldn't resist sending in the last one of my Task Force trucks for the Gallery. I had been tinkering around on it for a couple days last month.

This 1956 Chevy 3100 shortbox came from out from barn storage of 22 years. [ pix ] The previous owner packed her away in there in 1965. And her we see her first peak at the warm sun. We spent about a half hour cutting away at ivy that covered the door, keeping the '56 hostage.

As you can see, it has some slight rust problems. When we brought her out, of course all four tires were flat. [ pix ] I inflated them and they have held air! It took half a day to get it running.

This half-ton truck has a 235 and a 3 speed on the column. I've already found a good box off an old trailer. Next are the brakes.

Amazingly, all the gauges work and when the brakes are done, it will be on the road. I think it will make a good "shop" truck.

That's it! All my spaces are full of trucks now.

"That's it" ... ?? ... For some strraaange reason, Matt ... we just find that hard to believe! You have some nice trucks, and some great projects. ~ Editor

     Matt now has eleven Bolts -- a 1955 Second Series Chevy 1/2-Ton Short Box; a 1955 3100 Second Series Stepside; a 1955 3100 4 x 4; a 1955 4400; a 1955 6500; a 1956 Chevy 3100 Shortbox; a 1956 4400 1.5-Ton Napco; a 1956 6500; a 1957 3100 Shortbox; a 1957 Chevy 6500 Dump Truck; a 1957 Chevy 3800 1-ton and "lots of part trucks"

Plus Matt is 6'7" and wants to "fit comfortably in the cab." Matt says "They each have their own personalities. Even the worn out '55 6500 just keeps plugging along. I guess that's why I enjoy collecting them. I like a truck with a little history, and I know most of these trucks historys. It would be hard to call any my favorite" .~~ Editor
