1954 Chevy COE

         My old Stovebolt (the 1951 Chevy 3/4-ton) looks good on your site!

         The other day, when you called, I was just starting work on the big truck, my 1954 COE [ old pix / side view ].

         This is kinda strange. I took the driver's seat out and found this trap door in the bottom of it [ pix ] . What do ya suppose it's for ?

         So here are a few pictures of me in the process of taking the cab off the frame.

         There was this big metal thing [ pix ] I drug home from the local scrap yard. I was hoping I could just stand it up but noooo, I had to get my torch out to make some modifications.

          Here's a picture of my come along. If ya don't own one like this, you should.

         I finally got my make shift hoist stood up then had to position it. In this picture here, I'm just about ready to pick it up. Hmmm ... looks like I need to re-think the pipe I have my come along chained to [ pix ]. Well, never know 'til ya try. That cab is heavier than I thought. And them rivets tried to wear me out [ pix ]. I got it in the air kinda sorta last week.The last picture is bed time.

         Now I have to put something a little bit stronger up on top and maybe a second come along. It doesn't seem to be balancing very well.
